Electric supply stolen for cryptocurrency 'mine'

Police are investigating after officers found computer terminals powered by an illegal electricity supply being used to mine cryptocurrency.

West Yorkshire Police said they made the discovery at an industrial premises in Holme Lane, Bradford, at about 12:15 BST on Wednesday.

Cryptocurrency mining is an energy-intensive process that involves solving extremely difficult cryptographic problems that require powerful computers. In return, miners are rewarded with currency.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said a scene remained in place at the site and appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
